1. Introduction
Welcome to ImgFix ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website (www.imgfix.com) and our image editing tools.
ImgFix is designed from the ground up as a privacy-first platform. Our core architecture ensures that all image processing occurs entirely within your web browser, which means your images, files, and personal data never travel to our servers. This is not merely a policy decision — it is a fundamental technical design choice that makes data collection physically impossible for most interactions.
By using ImgFix, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of our website and tools.
2. Data We Collect
The short answer: almost nothing. ImgFix is designed to minimize data collection to the absolute bare minimum. Here's a detailed breakdown:
Data We DO NOT Collect:
- Your images, photos, or any visual content you process using our tools
- Names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information (unless you voluntarily provide them via our contact form)
- Payment information (we don't sell anything)
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Device identifiers or fingerprinting data
Data We MAY Collect:
- Contact form submissions: If you voluntarily contact us, we receive your name, email, and message. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
- Basic analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as page view counts) to understand which tools are most popular. This data is aggregated and anonymous.
- Theme preference: We store your dark/light mode preference in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
3. How We Handle Your Images
This is the most important section of our privacy policy. Your images are NEVER uploaded to any server.
All ImgFix tools use client-side JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API to process images. When you select a file for editing, the file is read directly by your web browser using the FileReader API. All transformations — compression, resizing, cropping, filtering, converting, and more — happen entirely within your browser's memory.
When you click "Download," the processed image is generated locally on your device and saved directly to your downloads folder. At no point during this process does your image data leave your device or pass through our servers.
This architecture means that even if our servers were compromised, your images would remain completely safe because they were never transmitted in the first place.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
ImgFix uses minimal browser storage:
- localStorage: We store your theme preference (dark/light mode) in your browser's localStorage. This is a local-only storage mechanism — the data stays on your device and is never sent to any server.
- Essential cookies: We may use essential cookies required for basic website functionality. These do not track you or store personal information.
- No tracking cookies: We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any cookies designed to follow your activity across different websites.
5. Analytics & Tracking
We may use privacy-respecting analytics solutions to understand basic usage patterns such as page views and popular tools. Any analytics we use are configured to:
- Not collect personally identifiable information
- Not use cookies for tracking
- Not share data with third-party advertisers
- Aggregate data anonymously
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other invasive tracking technology.
6. Third-Party Services
ImgFix may use the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts to serve web fonts. Google may collect basic technical data (IP address, browser type) as part of font delivery. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
- CDN-hosted libraries: Some tools may load JavaScript libraries (such as jsPDF or Tesseract.js) from CDN providers. CDN providers may log basic access data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
ImgFix is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information through our contact form, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You can request to know what personal data we have about you (typically, this will be limited to contact form submissions, if any).
- Right to Deletion: You can request that we delete any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction: You can request that we correct any inaccurate personal data.
- Right to Object: You can object to processing of your personal data.
- Right to Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@imgfix.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Continued use of ImgFix after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
